When we collided is a story of love, loss, trust & family.
In the first few chapters of this book I completely fell in love with the setting of Verona Cove, the way it was being described and the journey it took to get to different places set the summer vibe, a perfect read for this time of year.
The story follows two different points of view, Vivi who is a vibrant and unique character who has just moved to town. She meets Jonah and his little sister Leah whilst working at her part time job. After the tragic death of his father Jonah has to step up and take care of his siblings and his grieving mother.
What I loved most about this book was the family dynamic and the way it dealt with some very difficult subject matters, including mental health.
All of the characters in Jonah’s family to me are all so well thought out and interesting, you really connect with them and feel for what they are going through and the different ways each of them copes.
Vivi and Jonah are each others helping hand, when they are together they light up and try to push through all of their problems going on in their lives and try to make life as normal as they can for Jonahs five siblings.
I loved the development of Vivis and Jonahs relationship, this isn’t just a love story and I think the cover of this novel describes the emotions of this book perfectly with the circumstances that the characters go through.
After finishing this book I now plan on reading this authors other published works sometime soon, why haven’t I already?!
