(I was very kindly sent a proof copy for review by Hodder & Stoughton)
Anyone that has any contact with me will know my love and obsession with Caraval, the first book in the series that I read as a proof back in late 2016. Since then my collection of Stephanie Garber has grown ridiculously, I now own waaay more copies than I care to admit (oops)
I didn’t think it was possible, but I think I enjoyed Legendary even more than Caraval. I just love Stephanie’s writing and this world so much. It was really interesting to read from Tella’s point of view this time around, I really enjoyed her voice. The story, all the twists had me hooked from the get-go! This book expanded on the magical world of Caraval a ton, the stakes are higher in this book than the first, I love stories that question everything you think you know. I’m actually hoping to reread this along with Caraval before the final book comes out.
“Every good story needs a villain.
But the best villains are the ones you secretly like.”
If you haven’t picked up this series yet, what are you waiting for!
NOW THE WAIT FOR THE FINAL BOOK!! gah I can’t wait.
