Totally Should’ve Book Tag

January 19, 2018 1 Comment

Hey guys, today I’m back with another book tag! I was tagged by readingeverynight  to do the Totally Should’ve Book Tag.

First up a book that…

Totally Should’ve Gotten a Sequel

SOUNDLESS by Richelle Mead. I really enjoyed this one and think it deserved to be expanded on a lot more. It has a really interesting concept, ideal for either a sequel or even a longer first book! with the book being under 300 pages.

Totally Should’ve Gotten a Spin Off Series

Helene Aquilla from An Ember in The Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. My personal favourite from this ongoing series. I love reading from her POV and would love to know more from her backstory, I mean there’s still time, this could happen (hopeful thinking). I cannot wait for A Reaper at The Gates the third instalment in this series, to come out in June. I truly think this series is underrated and not talked about enough!

An Author Who Should Write More Books

Jandy Nelson!! I’ll Give You The Sun is one of my favourite contemporary books of all time. But she hasn’t released anything since (2014). On Goodreads she has a book registered called ‘Fall Boys & Dizzy in Paradise’, which has been on there for quite some time, with no release date attached to it. Hopefully, we get more information on it soon.

A Character Who Totally Should’ve Ended Up With Someone Else

Aelin –  Throne of Glass. All I’m saying. I mean there’s not much chance of that now with one book to go… but

Totally Should’ve Had a Movie Franchise

100000000% agree with —- on this one. Six of Crows & Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo! A duology filled with some of the most loveable, vibrant cast of characters I’ve ever read. I think if done properly this could adapt well to screen. Although at the same time I’m extremely protective of these characters and worry that the actors would never live up to my expectations…

Totally Should’ve Kept the Original Covers

Queen of the Tearling (US) cover. I MEAN LOOK. The first picture below being the original and the second the new cover. I think the first one just looks more fantasy-esque and aesthetically pleasing. I really dislike the red on the new cover and just think the colours don’t work well together, it’s a lot flatter in my opinion.

Totally Should’ve Stopped at Book One

I somewhat enjoyed Red Queen when I read it, it wasn’t anything special in my opinion. Decided to give the next book a try and I just couldn’t do it. I got almost halfway through before I had to put it down. One book was enough for me (shade but no shade).

I completely agree with ember in the ashes needing a spin-off series, Six of Crows being a movie franchise, and Red Queen stopping at book one. Great answers! 😊
