Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
Okay, I know there is one more day left of June, but I am 99.99% sure I won’t buy anymore books tomorrow. Here is my collective book haul for the month, including four I bought yesterday, oops.
I’ve Seen this tag floating around the blog-sphere, I have no idea who started it though, so credit to the original maker. As I was going to do a ‘favourites’ post anyway, this tag is the perfect way to sum everything up.
First question is..
As someone who has decided not to set a Goodreads reading goal this year, i’ve definitely felt less pressure than what I was feeling in 2016. I’ve just checked and I have read 18 books so far this year and i’m pretty darn happy with that, i’ve read a lot of amazing books so far already.
Here are just a few things i’d like to do/read this summer:
The Upside Of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli
Release: 11th April 2017
Publisher: Penguin (UK), Harper Collins (US)
Rating: 4/5 stars
Goodreads synopsis: Read More
Good morning, hope you’re all good.
Decided to do this random post today (Shelf Candy Saturday), which is where you talk about your favourite book covers. I have no idea who originally created this (apologies).
I just spent about 15 mins standing in front of my book shelves pondering, TOO MANY PRETTY BOOKS. I’m only going to talk about one this week and this one is just stunning. I’ve chosen And I Darken by Kiersten White.
This is the hardback editon/design. I think its ridiculously pretty, and aesthetically pleasing. For starters, how badass is that sword? its so striking, i can’t stop looking at it. The fact as well that the title text overlays the image in such a sleek way, it blends in perfectly.
Now how about those petals! I love the layering of these, specially with the way they look like they are floating/falling.
I’ve just seen the cover for the next book in the series Now I Rise
and I think it’s just as beautiful?! (I think I like the first one that tiny bit more though).
I think the designer (Alison Impey) did such a great job, she also designed The Serpent King, All The Bright Places, the Daughter Of Smoke and bone (US covers) and many more stunning covers, so it’s so no surprise why I love these so much.
I hope to read And I Darken soon.
Have any of you guys read this book yet? what did you think of it?
Whats your opinion on these covers?/what are your favourite covers?
Author: Leigh Bardugo

A sharpshooter who can’t walk away from a wager
A runaway with a privileged past
A spy known as the Wraith
A Heartrender using her magic to survive the slums
A thief with a gift for unlikely escapes
Kaz’s crew are the only ones who might stand between the world and destruction—if they don’t kill each other first.
* I was sent a copy by the publisher in exchange for a review (Thank you to Penguin Random House/Puffin UK) *
So summer is officially in full swing, especially where I am in the UK, we are having somewhat of a heatwave. So I thought I would recommend my favourite summery reads! These are in no particular order.
