I FINALLY FINISHED THIS BOOK! & it was wonderful.
This is one of those books that I had wanted to pick up for SO long, with it having a large amount of hype on social media I had that small inkling that it maybe wouldn’t live up to that hype, but it was everything I wanted it to be & surpassed my expectations.
What I loved: The five POV’S!, in the past, books I have read with multiple perspectives didn’t really sit well with me, but I loved every single character voice in this novel, they are all well thought out and have really interesting back stories, the attachments formed to these characters happened very quickly for me.
The plot was engaging and the story flowed really smoothly, nothing felt ‘info-dumpy’ the last 150 pages were something really special, my heart couldn’t take it. The heist narrative was just so entertaining, fast paced & interesting, there was also so many twists & turns and one of the main characters (Kaz) just continued throughout the story to impress me with his cunning plans!
What I also loved is that the romance didn’t take over the story, it was very much in the background of everything that was going on. There was so many ships! (and I literally love them all)
As I said before I love all the characters, but my absolute favourite is Inej, she’s so badass and i instantly clicked with her personality.
This was my first Leigh Bardugo read, so I haven’t read the Grisha Trilogy (Which I now really need to!) But I absolutely adored the setting and the world building, it was so beautifully written.
Even though it took me so long to get to this book, at least now I can just dive right into Crooked Kingdom!
