Okay, I know there is one more day left of June, but I am 99.99% sure I won’t buy anymore books tomorrow. Here is my collective book haul for the month, including four I bought yesterday, oops.
I’ve Seen this tag floating around the blog-sphere, I have no idea who started it though, so credit to the original maker. As I was going to do a ‘favourites’ post anyway, this tag is the perfect way to sum everything up.
First question is..
As someone who has decided not to set a Goodreads reading goal this year, i’ve definitely felt less pressure than what I was feeling in 2016. I’ve just checked and I have read 18 books so far this year and i’m pretty darn happy with that, i’ve read a lot of amazing books so far already.
Here are just a few things i’d like to do/read this summer:
When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Manon
Release date: May 30th US / June 1st UK
Rating given: 4/4.5 stars.
Goodreads synopsis: A laugh-out-loud, heartfelt YA romantic comedy, told in alternating perspectives, about two Indian-American teens whose parents have arranged for them to be married.
Dimple Shah has it all figured out. With graduation behind her, she’s more than ready for a break from her family, from Mamma’s inexplicable obsession with her finding the “Ideal Indian Husband.” Ugh. Dimple knows they must respect her principles on some level, though. If they truly believed she needed a husband right now, they wouldn’t have paid for her to attend a summer program for aspiring web developers…right?
Rishi Patel is a hopeless romantic. So when his parents tell him that his future wife will be attending the same summer program as him—wherein he’ll have to woo her—he’s totally on board. Because as silly as it sounds to most people in his life, Rishi wants to be arranged, believes in the power of tradition, stability, and being a part of something much bigger than himself.
The Shahs and Patels didn’t mean to start turning the wheels on this “suggested arrangement” so early in their children’s lives, but when they noticed them both gravitate toward the same summer program, they figured, Why not?
Dimple and Rishi may think they have each other figured out. But when opposites clash, love works hard to prove itself in the most unexpected ways.
Hey, long time no post!
things have been pretty crazy recently, but I’ve finished university now (FREEEEEDOM!) so i’m ready to have a great summer, full of reading, concerts, writing & hanging out with friends.
I’ve never reviewed a subscription box on my blog before, I kind of wish I had for the two boxes I bought in the past, but ah well. This is my second box from Fairyloot, the first being their ‘Mystery & Mischief’ box for January this year.
-SPOILERS AHEAD –
Oh hey, its been a while. I’m currently in my last month of university, so i’ve been a bit awol, it happens..
But its nearly may – and theres so many exciting releases to talk about!
